Silver Taxi operates with a $15 minimum fare. This minimum supports vehicle readiness, dispatch coordination, and driver availability.

QUOTE VALIDITY

How Long Is a Quote Valid?

Quotes are based on availability and current trip details. In most cases, quotes are valid for approximately 30 minutes. If more time passes, please call back so dispatch can reconfirm availability and pricing.

TRIP CHANGES

What Can Change the Total Price

Your quote is based strictly on the details provided at the time of booking. If any of the details change, the total may increase.

  • Additional passengers
  • Additional luggage or large items
  • Extra stops or route changes
  • Extended wait time
  • Different pickup or destination than originally provided

When the driver arrives, they may confirm the destination and key details again. This helps prevent misunderstandings and protects both the customer and the driver.

STOPS & WAIT TIME

Extra Stops and Wait Time

If you need stops during your trip (store runs, drive-thru, errands), please tell dispatch in advance. Stops and waiting may add to the total.

  • Extra stops: typically $5 per stop
  • Wait time: typically $5 per additional 10 minutes when waiting is requested
  • Extended wait time is charged in increments to reflect driver time and availability

Exact expectations may vary by trip type and availability. Dispatch will confirm when coordinating your ride.

CAPACITY & SAFETY

Passenger & Luggage Capacity

To comply with safety requirements and traffic laws, passenger count and luggage/items must be disclosed when booking.

  • Sedans: typically 3–4 passengers
  • Minivans: up to 6 passengers
  • Large loads, excessive luggage, or oversized items must be disclosed in advance
  • Drivers may decline unsafe loads or request dispatch guidance to ensure compliance

  • Mobile Payments (Zelle, Venmo, Cash App)
  • Tap-to-Pay / Contactless (Apple Pay / Google Pay where available)
  • Invoice billing for approved corporate / repeat clients (verification required)

If a family member or friend is helping pay for your ride, mobile payments can often be used remotely to confirm the trip when applicable.

PREPAYMENT

When Prepayment Is Required

Prepayment may be required for certain requests to confirm availability and protect drivers. This commonly applies to:

  • Pickups outside Bakersfield
  • Long-distance or intercity trips
  • Courier / delivery requests
  • Hourly services or specialty requests (deposits may apply)
Important: If you are not comfortable with prepayment requirements for an out-of-area or specialty request, taxi service may not be the right fit for that situation. For lower-cost alternatives, rideshare or public transportation may be more suitable.
